Description

Description

This project is a locally sponsored and locally let project that will re-align and widen approximately 0.50 miles of the existing Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to a new two-lane paved rural road from Galilee Church Road to Martin Luther King Avenue to provide access to the Central Jackson Industrial Park in the City of Jefferson in Jackson County. This includes improvements on Galilee Church Road to add an eastbound left turn lane at the intersection with Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and add a westbound right turn lane at the intersection with US 129 (Jefferson Bypass). The project begins approximately 350 feet east of the intersection of Galilee Church Road and US 129. It then runs north parallel to a property line, which is approximately 200 feet east of the existing dirt road. Then the alignment runs along the existing Martin Luther King Jr. Drive dirt road for approximately 700 feet to the end of the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Martin Luther King Avenue.
