The Jafurah project is a natural gas megaproject in the Arabian Desert southeast of Saudi Arabia's Ghawar oilfield. It involves deploying advanced drilling technology including walking rigs to speed up drilling and well completions. The project aims to produce 2 billion standard cubic feet per day of gas, 420 million standard cubic feet per day of ethane, and 630,000 barrels per day of associated liquids by 2030, potentially producing up to 1 million barrels per day of condensates at peak. It is a strategic platform supporting Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 agenda to diversify the economy and reduce crude oil consumption for domestic power generation.
