Description | Aramco's Jafurah unconventional gas field development is the largest ongoing gas development project in the Middle East, with an envisaged capex of more than $100 billion, spread over multiple phases. It aims to increase Saudi Arabia's natural gas production capacity by more than 60% by 2030, primarily serving the domestic market and supporting the petrochemical industry. Phase one is on track for completion in 2025, with production expected to reach 2 billion cubic feet per day by 2030. The second phase is expected to come on stream by the end of 2027, with full field development due by the end of 2030. |
