Description

On 9th December 2011, the Government of Rajasthan awarded a concession of 12-years 7-months and 27-days (including 1-year construction period) to D.K.Infrastructure Private Limited for the strengthening, improvement, 2-laning, operation and maintenance, and tolling of 77.80kms of Jalore–Ramsingh–Revdar section of road comprising SH-64 (0/000 to 76/500), in the state of Rajasthan. Under the contract, D.K.Infrastructure was responsible for the design, construction, finance, operation and maintenance, strengthening and widening the existing carriageway of Jalore–Ramsingh–Revdar section to 2-lane standard with paved shoulders.The scope included construction of new pavement, rehabilitation of existing pavement, construction and/or rehabilitation of major and minor bridges, culverts,road intersections,interchanges, drains, traffic signages, traffic safety measures, etc. The Government of India, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) through Public Works Department (PWD), Government of Rajasthan had decided to take up the development of various National Highway Corridors for augmentation of capacity for safe and efficient movement of traffic by widening to 2-lane with paved shoulder. This road project covering Jalore and Sirohi districts was expected to ease traffic congestion and give significant stimulus to trade and commerce in the entire region. D.K.Infrastructure Private Limited won the tender through international competitive bidding, conducted by PWD Rajasthan, by quoting the lowest concession period of 12-years 7-months and 27-days. Under the contract, the SPV was to recover the capital costs and operating costs including returns through tolling during the term of concession. D.K.Infrastructure would execute the EPC for this project. The concession agreement for the project was signed on 10th May 2012. Details of financing were not available at the time of collection of this information. The estimated capital cost of the project at the time of financial closure was US$ 10.35mn (INR 517.5 mn @ 50 INR/USD). The construction of project started in May 2012 (Appointed Date) and was expected to be operational by April 2013.
