Information Irrigation-UK has come up with Jamrani Dam Multipurpose Project with a ticket size of 2584.1 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Jamrani Dam Multipurpose Project envisages the construction of 150.60 m concrete gravity dam across the river Gola near village Jamrani, district Nainital, Uttarakhand 10 km upstream of existing Gola barrage which is located near Kathgodam. The catchment area at proposed dam site is 450 sq. km. The live storage created by project is proposed to be used for drinking water and irrigation purposes. Project was accepted by Advisory Committee on Irrigation, Flood Control and Multipurpose Projects for an amount of Rs 144.84 crore in its 43rd meeting dated 18.05.1989 subject to obtaining Environmental and Forest clearances from Ministry of Environment & Forests, GoI. However, in absence of clearances and financial approval work could not be started on the project.
