Vestas has entered a public-private partnership with Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to support the growth of Japan's wind energy sector. The partnership establishes a study group to promote large-scale deployment of onshore and offshore wind energy and to explore further investment in Japan's domestic wind turbine supply chain. The study group will focus on fostering a stable pipeline of wind energy projects, ensuring reliable investment execution, and identifying opportunities for Japanese companies to participate in Vestas' regional and global supply chains. Vestas also signed a memorandum of understanding with Nippon Steel Corporation to collaborate on wind energy projects in Japan and strengthen supply chain links in domestic and international markets, including exploring the supply of tower steel and cooperation on green steel and TMCP steel.
