Description | Emergent BioSolutions has entered into a $34.5 million agreement with Substipharm Biologics to manufacture drug substance for the Japanese Encephalitis vaccine IMOJEV® at its Canton, Massachusetts facility. The facility, classified as BSL-2, underwent an FDA inspection in February 2026 with a 'No Action Indicated' status, supporting scale-up efforts. Emergent will also serve as the exclusive distributor of the vaccine to the U.S. government upon FDA approval. The project includes operational and regulatory inspection readiness activities and plans to hire additional employees in 2026. |
