Description | JA Solar has deployed its first JAPlanet energy storage systems in Europe as part of its solar-plus-storage strategy targeting commercial and industrial customers. The 261 kWh lithium iron phosphate modular battery system scales to 5.2 MWh per site. Initial installations include 10 units at an aquaculture facility, 8 units at a hotel and resort in Palermo, and 10 units at the municipality of Licodia Eubea in Sicily, Italy. The latter supports a 2 MW PV-coupled battery system for energy trading and arbitrage at the municipal level. Additional deployments are underway in Germany and the Netherlands. |
