Information Northern Coalfields Limited [NCL] has come up with Jayant Expansion [10 to 20 MTPA ] Opencast Mining Project with a ticket size of 1783.09 INR Crores. This project in Coal sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Completion Certificate/COD and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project CIL Board in its 340th meeting held on 02.05.2017 approved EPR of brown field Jayant Expansion OCP for an incremental capacity of 10 Mtpa [from 10 to 20 Mtpa] with an additional investment of Rs 1783.09 Crs for Option-II [Coal Departmental & partial OB Outsourcing]. It has a minable reserve of 313.61 MT of coal having life period of 18 years. Project has achieved production capacity and has coal production more than PRC since 2020-21. Coal production target in FY24 is 28.50 MT. Jayant Expansion Open Cast Project [10 to 20 Mtpa] is situated in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh and forms a part of Singrauli Coalfield of Northern Coalfields Limited [NCL]. The project is located in the south-central part of Singrauli Coalfield and is bounded by Dudhichua and Nigahi Projects on the east and west respectively. The project was approved on 02.05.2017. The project is scheduled for commissioning in March 2021and anticipated date of completion is October 2023.The initial capital investment for expansion project for 10.00 Mtpa incremental capacity [10 to 20 Mtpa] has been estimated as Rs 1783.09 Crs for Option-II [Coal Departmental & partial OB Outsourcing]. The project is mainly linked to Singrauli Super Thermal Power Station through their own MGR system. There is also arrangement of the Public Railway to dispatch coal to other consumers if required from Shaktinagar Railway Station. A full-fledged CHP [15.00 Mtpa Incremental] with Rapid Loading System from Silo has been envisaged in PR. Note: NCL Board has recommended the Completion Report of the project for approval of CIL Board on 21.09.2023. PAC held on 09.10.2023. ESC meeting of CIL Board is awaited.
