Description
Description | The present proposal aims to complement some of the existing actions covering the analysis of the Economic Integration process in Europe at the University Jaume I. It sets new activities focused on the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) in the post-Covid 19 era for teaching, research, and outreach. For so doing, the Chair will look for synergies with different organizations. Two of them belong to the University Jaume I, namely, the European Documentation Centre (EDC) and the Provincial Government (that manages a Europe Direct information point) and the University of Valencia (with which the applicant has a consortium for research in Economic Integration). Concerning the teaching activities, the prospective JM Chair will take over a package of two undergraduate courses (in the Bachelor's degree of Economics and the Bachelor's degree in Public Administration) that the Spanish students share with many Erasmus and exchange students. In addition, the Chair will participate in teaching Monetary and Financial Integration course in a Master's degree offered jointly with the University of Valencia (we target a broad audience regarding academic background (law, business, history, engineering) and geographical origin (European, American or Asian). As a second goal, the JM Chair envisages developing an innovative and cutting-edge research program on EU economic recovery and resilience in monetary unions collaborating with various European and US universities. Finally, the chair holder will coordinate other outreaching activities. First, the Chair will develop seminars for professional managers on EU projects; second, it will coordinate students' exchange programs with Asia and North American universities on EU and, last, it will curate a continuous collaboration with media on EU issues. |
