Description

Description

The Jean Monnet Chair in European Law and Migration Policies (EULAMP) aims to design, consolidate and offer a cohesive palette of interdisciplinary educational activities in European migration law and policies to a wide range of students. Hosted by Utrecht University’s Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance, EULAMP offers a novel educational focus that thoroughly addresses various policies related to migration: from asylum to labour migration to return and readmission. To this aim, the Chair enhances academic curricula by integrating interdisciplinary education, research, and policy engagement. EULAMP will upscale the currently limited educational offer in European migration law and policies at Utrecht University’s School of Law by launching new courses and introducing innovative teaching formats, such as legislative laboratories, negotiation exercises and research clinics. In an attempt to raise civic awareness amongst various categories of students about the societal challenges linked with European law and migration policies, the Chair’s activities will target undergraduate and graduate students, PhD students and professionals. In this regard, EULAMP also promotes inclusive education by collaborating with Utrecht University’s programme allowing refugees and asylum seekers to participate in education (incluUUsion). Beyond the classroom, EULAMP contributes to policy debates through research dissemination, stakeholder dialogue and outreach activities. The Chair, therefore, increases societal impact by involving student young generations in active learning. EULAMP’s transnational dimension is reinforced through collaboration with renowned international academics as guest lecturers, facilitating scientific exchange amongst students and ensuring that the Chair’s outcomes extend beyond national borders. Through open-access resources, digital engagement, and policy-oriented research, EULAMP aspires to leave a lasting legacy at Utrecht University and beyond.
