Description
Description | "As its name suggests, the proposed Project claims to be a focal point of competence and knowledge on European Union Law in Uzbekistan. The proposed Project entitled “Jean Monnet Chair in EU Law (Basic & Advanced courses)” aims to keep teaching existing “Basic EU Law” (Bachelor) and to implement new advanced course “EU Substantive Law” for graduate (Master) students at Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL) of the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan. The Project aims at teaching the courses on European integration on the basis of systematic approach. Thus, it will enable us to synchronize some of the similar subjects and courses to serve one common goal. One of the results of the Project will be to establish and develop a teaching methodology of the courses related to the EU legal system. As a result, the planned Project will serve as a methodological hub for other institutions of higher education in Uzbekistan where EU law courses are taught. Along with teaching process of the EU Law courses, teaching-material basis of the teaching in general will be strengthened. The textbooks on European Union Law will be published, and existing curricula will be renewed and enriched. International cooperation with Jean Monnet chair holders will be promoted in order for the further development of teaching methodology. Besides teaching, three types of additional activities are planned to be carried out in form of guest-lectures, seminar-workshops and conference participation. The Project has been elaborated in response to the increasing importance of the European dimension of foreign policy of Uzbekistan. The Project strives to achieve its goals through untraditional innovative methods providing students with cutting-edge information and knowledge and identifies and financially motivates talented young people through the annual students’ contest ""The best students research paper on EU studies"".
