Description | BACKGROUND The Covid-19 pandemic has shown the importance of the healthcare sector and how political decisions in this area can greatly impact citizen's lives. During the coronavirus pandemic countries took unprecedented measures that limited the freedom of movement of individuals, affected the social life of people, the economic and cultural activities of society. The HEALTH-EU project plan to address the need of a lack of knowledge from the students of Samara State Medical University (SGMU) in health policy and from their interest in understanding better the European and global dynamics in this area. OBJECTIVE HEALTH-EU project aims to promote teaching and research activities on the EU in healthcare study programs at SGMU. RESULTS The project objective will be achieved thanks to the following results: - delivery of a short specialized program providing the necessary tools for students from different branches of healthcare studies (medicine, healthcare management, public health, etc.) to understand what is the EU and what it does in the healthcare sector; - preparation of study material for each of the courses delivered in this JM Module (JMM) + 1 handbook - publication of at least 3 scientific articles - organization of at least 3 events open to wider public ACTIVITIES The project results will be implemented at the completion of the following activities: - delivery of 225 teaching hours in 5 courses of the JMM designed for healthcare studies - collection and analysis of main scientific literature on the EU and its engagement in the healthcare sector to produce the study material and handbook. - Research activities leading to the publication of at least 3 articles on the EU and healthcare sector in peer-reviewed journals - Involving the main stakeholders and civil society, inviting them and promoting the discussion about the EU and its engagement in healthcare affairs in occasion of the three dissemination events of the JMM |
