Description | Jeddah Tower is set to be the world's first kilometre-tall building, located just outside the port city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. The skyscraper is designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture and aims to surpass the 830-metre-tall Burj Khalifa as the world's tallest building. Construction began in 2013 but faced multiple stoppages due to financial issues, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the removal of the original contractor. Construction officially restarted in early 2025 and is on track to complete in 2028. |
