The proposed net project length is approximately onemile, the extents of which reside entirely within the City of Jefferson. The eastern & western termini were determined by the creation of access to existing subdivisions & the improvements needed to provide inter-school road crossings. The proposed improvements include construction of an urban section with 5’ sidewalk extending along the southern side of Old Pendergrass Rd from Fountainhead Dr to Hoschton St. This proposed sidewalk connects the entrance driveway of the Jefferson Public Library to the entrance driveways of Jefferson Academy and Middle Schools, as well as the entrance to the Preserve and Fountainhead subdivisions. In addition to the aforementioned improvements, new storm drains, crosswalks, and curb & gutter are also integrated into the project. Lastly, ADA-compliant ramps will be installed at the side road intersections along Old Pendergrass Road and Hoschton Street within the project limits.
