Description | Several important projects are planned at Jennette's Pier in Nags Head, including replacing the small roof-top observation platform on the research station with a larger one to allow installation of more and larger observation equipment. After completion of the rooftop deck project, large sections of the pier will close for replacement of every deck plank with more durable, longer-lasting fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) planks designed to better withstand the coastal environment. The renovation will proceed from the end of the pier westward towards the pier house, with the goal to complete by May 2026, just in time for the spring fishing season. |
