Description
Description | The JTEJP project is a pilot experience of designing, creating and performing prototypes of multilingual shows for young and family audiences. It includes emerging theater artists supported by and/or coworking with trainers and senior experts; producers and programmers who represent a variety of professional and linguistic contexts; groups of amateur practitioners and/or young spectators and all types of audiences directly involved at different stages of the project's development. It includes 7 beneficiaries from France, Serbia, Ireland, Germany, Greece, and Tunisia, and 5 Associated Partners from France, Ireland, Greece and Spain. These partners cover a very wide spectrum, from small grass-root emerging organizations to well structured, state-funded entities with high operational capacity. It will involve up to 15 European and non-European languages, dialects, and regional tongues, and be developed over a period of 28 months. The main needs which this project means to address are: 1. The lack of professional prestige and transnational mobility for Youth Theatre 2. The lack of diversity on stage and in audiences 3. The lack of visibility and space for innovative stories and formats by emerging artists 4. The lack of transnational cooperation and mobility at the European level. Results include: - A charter to support the creation of a European coproduction network for multilingual shows for young and general audiences (sustainable, equitable, inclusive and cost efficient). -An action plan for 2024-2026 involving beneficiaries and new partners in co-productions and touring of multilingual shows for Young Audiences in Europe and beyond by transnational teams of emerging artists. Recommendations for future action (to be shared with national and European stakeholders and policy-makers, professional organizations, and cultural bodies) -Methods for multilingual performance design and creation, for creative translation |
