Jiangxi Province has one of the lowest gross domestic product values in China. The project aims to increase the supply of qualified specialists and improve career options for graduates and helps to overcome investment bottlenecks in Jiangxi Province. In the medium term, the rising level of qualifications will have an impact on the development of wage levels and thus on the standard of living in the region. Improving the training capacities and the quality of training at Jian Vocational and Technical College is intended to increase both the number of enrolled students and the qualifications of graduates. The measures include the procurement and commissioning of teaching materials as well as the construction of a laboratory and experimental building. In addition, the loan will finance the design and implementation of an innovative component for more practice-oriented vocational training tailored to the needs of the school. Vocational training projects such as this one contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDG 4, by improving educational opportunities, promoting qualified employment and increasing income prospects. In addition, the project is in line with the BMZ's education strategy, which focuses on aligning vocational training systems more closely with the labor market. It achieves this by making a positive contribution 1. to increasing the supply of qualified specialists for the local and regional labor market; 2. to expanding and strengthening the quality of vocational training; 3. to a strict focus on current needs; and 4. to increased cooperation and exchange with local industry.
