Description | The project entails the construction of a 100MW waste-to-energy incineration facility in Jiangjin District, Chongqing. The project will be conducted on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis, with a 30-year concession period. The facility is designed to process a total of 4,500 tonnes per day of waste and will be built in two phases: 2,250 tonnes per day, to be completed by 2017, and another 2,250 tonnes per day, to be completed by 2019. The total annual waste throughput will be 1.64 million tonnes. In April 2016, Chongqing Sanfeng Covanta Environmental Industry was awarded a contract to supply the plant.
