Jiangyan City Township Wastewater Treatment Plants

In October 2011, a local private company Sound Group won a bid to build and operate five township wastewater treatment plants in Jiangyan City, Jiangsu Province. Except the plants per se, Sound would build the associated pipeline networks but this part of work, once finished, would be transferred to the local utilities and Sound got compensated within a term of four years. The plants would be operated by Sound, as the concessionaire, for 25 years. The total cost was US$ 76.07 million (RMB 480 million) for the whole package and the plant component was worth US$ 11.89 million (RMB 75 million). The total capacity was 13,000 cubic meters per day. A project company Jiangyan City Zhenlong Water Affairs Company Limited was installed to perform the project with a registration capital of US$ 2.61 million (RMB 16.50 million) in May 2012. Sound had a 100% stake in the project.
