Jiaxing Container Terminal Extension Project

The extension of the Jiaxing River Container Terminal began in March 2012 by the project company Jiaxing River International Container Terminal Co. Ltd. which was a JV between the Hong Kong based PYI Corporation (90% share) and a local SOE (10% share). The project was located in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. The total investment was RMB 69 million (US$ 10.94 million). The project was completed in Dec 2012 with an increased capacity of 200,000 TEU per year. The scope of the extension work was mainly about the increase of the yard area from 48,000 square meters to 71,000 square meters, construction of roads in the terminal area and some handling equipment. At least 25% of construction had been achieved by May 2012.
