Jimmie Davis Bridge Replacement Project

The project involves constructing a new, modernized four-lane Jimmie Davis Bridge adjacent to the existing two-lane structure over the Red River. The new bridge will double the vehicle capacity and reduce congestion. The existing bridge will be transformed into a pedestrian and bicycle crossing connecting to walking trails along the river. Phase 3 of the 5-phase project includes traffic lane swaps and construction of a new subsurface drainage system and permanent roadway paving. The new bridge is scheduled to be fully complete as part of phase 3.
