The project includes the construction and operation of a 32-km toll road. New World Infrastructure holds 60% of the project company's shares, while 40% is held by a state-owned enterprise. The road has dual two lanes and one two-way toll collection. The expected traffic flow is 25,000 vehicles per day. Operation of the toll road is expected to start in July 2000 (the concession period is 30 years beginning from the start of operations). Financial closure was achieved with the sponsors own resources. Both the national and the provincial government provide tax incentives. As of December 2002, New World had disposed of share in the project, leaving the road non-operational. The disposal of shares was decided to improve liquidity of the corporation.
