JK Paper Limited (JK Paper or the company), with sales of about 183,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of paper, is one of the largest integrated pulp and paper manufacturer in India. JK Paper has two integrated pulp and paper facilities: Central Pulp Mill (CPM) located at Fort Songadh near Surat in Gujarat, and JK Paper Mill (JKPM) near Rayagada in Orissa. Current production capacity at CPM is 55,000 tpa and, at JKPM, 1,25,000 tpa. The company proposes to invest in the following new facilities at CPM: - 60,000 tpa capacity coated duplex board plant based on re-cycled waste paper and surplus pulp; - chlorine dioxide plant of 1.5 tpd capacity; - coal and pet coke fired boiler of 70 tonnes per hour (tph) capacity; - oxygen delignification plant comprising oxygen generation plant of 170 m3/hr and oxidation plant of 2.1 m3/hr; and - 12 MW turbo generator set. The proposed IFC financing will part fund the above projects.
