Description | The project entails the construction of five sections of a transmission line connecting Brazil's Bahia and Piauí states, along with the construction of two substations and the expansion of another two. The total length of the transmission lines is approx. 800 km. Brookfield Asset Management and CYMI’s 50:50 joint venture José Maria de Macedo de Eletricidade (JMM) is the sponsor. The total value of the project is R1,575 million ($414.4 million) with a debt-to-equity ratio of 69:31. The financing includes a R395 million debentures a R687.2 million credit facility which was priced at a local inflation index (TJLP) plus 2.17% and R493.03 equity. Brazilian development bank BNDES has subscribed to R126.4 million in JMM's debentures, which corresponds to 32% of the issue.
