Description

Description

Joe le taxi is a feature film project co-developed by two European companies: Les Films Pelléas (France) and O Som E A Furia (Portugal). It is the second feature film by Franco-Portuguese director Cristèle Alves Meira. The film will be shot partly in France and partly in Portugal, with French and Portuguese artistic and technical teams. Our aim is to pool the skills and knowledge of our two production companies to successfully develop this ambitious project. Indeed, collaboration between a French and Portuguese company is essential for this project by a Franco-Portuguese director, whose main character is a Portuguese woman who emigrates to France, in a film that tackles social issues and a little-known part of the history of both Portugal and France (lesbian activism from the 1970s to 2020). Bringing together a highly experienced French company, such as Les Films Pelléas, with a renowned Portuguese company such as O Som E A Furia is also a sign of collaboration between countries with different market sizes - Portugal is part of LCC Group A - and of a clear desire for linguistic and geographical diversity. Our two companies will work hand in hand throughout the development of the project: each country and each company will contribute its own expertise (knowledge of local territories for location scouting, knowledge of possible financing for development, knowledge of the teams for writing, casting, location scouting, etc.) and we will share the tasks. Media co-development is perfectly suited to this configuration and will enable us to successfully develop this promising project.
