Johannesburg Air Pollution Warning App

planned

Scientists at the University of the Witwatersrand have developed South Africa's first air pollution warning app to address a recent spike in coal-related emissions in Johannesburg. The app uses data from multiple air monitoring stations to detect sudden increases in pollution and provides basic advice to residents. It aims to help residents respond to health impacts caused by worsening air quality linked to emissions from mining and industrial sites.
