Johnson Township Community Centre Green Efficiency Updates

Improvements will be made to the Johnson Township Community Centre (JTCC) focusing on the ice making plant, HVAC system, bathrooms, showers, lighting, and enclosure tightness. The installation of automation solutions and replacement of equipment long past its useful life, will reduce consumption, limit water usage, and reduce product waste throughout the building. Increasing energy efficiency’s by approx. 25%, reducing GHG emissions by approx. 35%, reducing costs by $45,000, and reducing water consumption by a minimum of 660,000 gallons annually. Providing a better experience for community members and regular users groups from 12 underserved northern municipalities in the Algoma District, amounting to a population of approx. 80,000 individuals. With a direct impact on the 750 individuals in The Township of Johnson through the reduction of cost to run the facility, reduction of water usage on the Water Treatment Plant, and reduction of GHG emissions into the air.
