Description | The Johor Water Supply Project will expand water supply infrastructure systems in 3 of the 8 districts of the State of Johor. Water services will be improved for around one million people and expanded to another 370,000 by 1990. The project will provide for: (a) the expansion of source works serving the Johor Bahru district, and the strengthening of the distribution systems; (b) the construction of intake, pumping, transmission and distribution works for the Batu Pahat district; (c) the construction of intake, wells, treatment, transmission and storage works for the Kluang district; (d) the establishment of continuing in-house training capabilities at the Federal and Johor State levels; and (e) technical assistance and consulting services for improving the Water Department's technical operations, construction supervision, and block mapping surveys and detailed engineering of the distribution networks. |
