Description
Description | The Wastewater Disposal in Rural Centres III, Phase 2 (APC IM.2) project supplements the Wastewater Disposal in Rural Centres IM (APC IM) project, which was designed as an open programme, with additional investment measures. Conceptual changes and additional measures make it necessary to start the second phase in 2008. Both phases of the project include the expansion and repair of wastewater collection and treatment in small and medium-sized Moroccan towns. This is intended to contribute to improving living conditions and reducing the health risks to the population from water-borne diseases in the programme locations within the framework of the protection and integrated and sustainable management of the scarce surface and underground water resources (development policy objectives and FC measure objectives). The target group of the project is the population of the programme locations and the residents in the downstream areas of the respective receiving water bodies. The final selection of the measures and programme locations to be implemented was made using the selection criteria agreed in the implementation agreements. At the time of the audit in 2008, the total costs of Phase 2 of the program amounted to EUR 11.8 million, financed by an FC development loan (classic joint financing) of EUR 8.8 million and a contribution from the program locations of EUR 3.0 million. In 2018, the funds were increased by means of joint financing of EUR 4,980,000 (2,490,000 HH funds, 2,490,000 KfW funds). The FC loan finances 70% of the investment costs and 100% of the direct and indirect foreign exchange costs. |
