Description
Description | The Project aims to alleviate the impact of the pandemic on MSMEs and facilitate their post COVID-19 recovery to retain and developtheir firm capabilities and market position. A gender focus to ensure the inclusion of women as business leaders/owners andemployees, will be integrated, as well as a focus on the needs of vulnerable groups. The project is addressing both emergency andmedium-term response, and each component’s design has activities that cater to both. However, the larger part of the project andthe most immediate disbursements are related to the emergency support. More specifically, immediate response measures will includeguaranteeing access to finance through MFIs to support the lower subsets of MSMEs, and providing grants to SMEs through component2.1. The Project will also support institutional and policy development through component 3. The Project will comprise the threecomponents critical to MSME development:(1) De-risk debt financing to MSMEs;(2) Support MSME resilience and growth; and(3)Project management and institutional development. |
