This Program aims to support Jordan’s updated Social Protection Strategy within the ambitious Economic Modernization Vision 2033 (EMV 2033), building on the achievements of the Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) Project and the National Social Protection Strategy (2019-2025). RSSP envisions a transformative approach to social protection for the poor and vulnerable. It prioritizes 'next generation' reforms to enhance resilience to shocks, promotes economic engagement, and facilitate the transition out of poverty. Additionally, it aims to make the social protection system more sustainable. suggestThe program focuses on making the social protection system responsive, by design, to regional challenges and climate-related risks. It also aims to enhance the effectiveness of social protection by integrating cash assistance—though the Unified Cash Transfer (UCT)—with economic empowerment and social services and strengthening Jordan’s Social Registry (JSR) to support these reforms. Additionally, RSSP focuses on building sustainable partnerships with NGOs and the private sector to expand the coverage, effectiveness, and financial sustainability of the national social protection system.
