The Party Film Sales is motivated by the idea that the circulation of films across the EU can contribute to the exchange of ideas between the populations of Europe, to the creation of common cultural references shared by the EU citizens. Hence, we already worked on the release of valuable long-feature films during the past few years (such as 'Two of Us', 'Fuocoammare', 'Touch Me Not',...) with the support of MEDIA. The success of these experiences reinforced our motivation to reiterate such projects. The contribution of the MEDIA Sales Agent Program to our project is twofold as we plan to acquire and release two to three European non national films each year. First, the funds will allow us to acquire new films and strengthen our recent partnerships with European producers and newcomers or primed European directors we just started work with (Adina Pintilie, Veerle Baetens, Filippo Meneghetti,…) that are likely to please many different audiences across the EU. Secondly, it will enable The Party Film Sales to finance the expenses related to the promotion, the distribution and valorization of these films and offer them the visibility they deserve.
