JSW Energy's 250 MW/500 MWh BESS project

This project entails the development of two standalone battery energy storage systems, each with a capacity of 250 MW/500 MWh, designed for 2 hours of storage in one cycle. Located in the region of Fatehgarh, Rajasthan state, the project is developed under a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) model for a period of 12 years. According to the agreement with the offtaker, Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), 60% of the capacity (150 MW/300 MWh) will be utilized by SECI for a fixed price of $13,058 (10.84 lakhs) per MW per month. The rest of the capacity is planned to be managed by the project company, JSW Renew Energy Five Limited. The sponsor of the project is the India-based JSW Energy. The purchase agreement was signed on March 5, 2024, and construction started in June 2024.
