The Juan de Fuca Arena Improvement Project consists of the design and rehabilitation of the Juan de Fuca ice arena. The purpose of the Project is to increase and improve access to the arena as the current arena has reached the end of its useful life. The Project will contribute to active and healthy lifestyles for area residents. The Project scope includes: • replacement of ice arena refrigerated floor; • installation of a heat recovery condenser for the ice arena floor; • installation of energy recovery system; • installation of a modern NHL set of dasher boards properly mounted on the cold deck including all the existing man gates, Zamboni gates, penalty boxes, players boxes, and goal judge box; • replacement of spectator seats and bleachers; • retrofitting of roofline; and • upgrading the stand seating and dressing rooms.
