Description | Objectives: The project seeks to provide hands on training on the flagship instruments of EU criminal law: the European Arrest Warrant, the European Investigation Order, the EU procedural guarantees legislation, and the Council Framework Decisions on detention and transfer of prisoners. The trainings will specifically explore, how to respond to the fundamental rights and rule of law concerns in relation to certain EU Member States while administering EU mutual recognition criminal law instruments in the post–Aranyosi/Celmer era. Activities - 2 Steering Committee Meetings - 4 training activities to be implemented in four different locations all of them coupled with an introductory on-line lecture - Project evaluation incl. pre-training evaluation, quality and impact and effectiveness evaluation per training activity - Website dedicated to the project hosting the training materials and trainers’ notes - Simultaneous interpretation into between English, French, Dutch, Polish and Spanish provided - Translation of training materials into French, Dutch, Polish and Spanish Type and number of persons benefiting from the project: 100+ legal practitioners participating in the training activities having a criminal law background and falling within the target group. Expected results: The project will result in the strengthening of the principles mutual trust and mutual recognition after the Aranyosi/Celmer case law and will contribute to the increased understanding of the fundamental rights/rule of law context in which EU criminal law operates. Type and number of deliverables to be produced - 2 Steering Committee Meetings incl. 2 agendas/reports - 4 training programmes incl. an introductory online lecture - 4 sets of training materials incl. trainers’ notes in English, French, Dutch, Spanish and Polish - Project evaluation report incl. the pre-training, quality and impact and effectiveness evaluation summaries - Project’s website hosting the training materials |
