Description
Description | The EJTN represents the sole network gathering all judicial training institutions across the EU. Its annual programme, developed based on the Training Needs Assessment exercise, is coordinated in a descentralised manner by the Working Groups, which represent the members, across thematic areas. For 2026-2028, EJTN developed a robust training scheme aiming at answering at the emerging priorities set for judges, prosecutors and court staff: - Digitalisation of justice - Strengthening the cross-border cooperation - Ensuring the application of the EU Charter and the Rule of Law - Bringing innovation to the training offer. Thanks to this unique model and sustained support, EJTN enables members of the judiciary across the EU to exchange experiences, discuss key legal challenges, and strengthen their sense of belonging to a shared legal space, contributing significantly to the construction of a strong, independent, and coherent European area of justice. Approximately 10.000 judges, prosecutors and Court staff are trained every year by the EJTN through exchanges, study visits, seminars, and webinars. The AIAKOS Programme and the THEMIS competition address around 1000 future and newly appointed Judges and Prosecutors from almost all the EU Member States every year. EJTN’s activities for the 2026–2028 period are inherently European in scope, content, and impact. As the only network bringing together all 35 national judicial training institutions of the EU Member States, EJTN ensures that judicial training across the Union reflects a shared understanding of EU law, values, and procedures—a fundamental contribution to the consistent and coherent implementation of European law, policies and strategies, including those related to digitalisation, fundamental rights, and gender equality. |
