Description | Through a set of integrated activities and adopting a participatory approach, JUST CLOSER aims at promoting and reinforcing child participation in criminal proceedings by starting from actual practices as well as from the direct experience of children. JUST CLOSER addresses priority 1 of the present call since it contributes to the effective and coherent application of EU criminal law, by focusing on the practical implementation of Directive 2016/800. The project is structured into 5 WPs to develop the following main activities: 1. Overall coordination and management of the project 2. Closer spaces: Set up of groups of Youth Leaders in Italy, Greece and the Netherlands (YT&A group), Exchange workshop on methodology, Participatory needs assessment by YT&A group, Peer support programme, Podcast with youth voices. 3. Closer system: Training of Professionals, set up of a Group of Ambassadors, Videos/podcast, Online Transnational exchange. 4. Closer Europe: Elaboration of a European Report, Elaboration of a Guide to Good Practice on Directive 2016/800 (containing the Letter of Rights), Organisation of a Final Transnational Seminar 5. Enlarging the scope: elaboration of analytic reports on the implementation of EU Directive regarding children who are suspected or accused of crime, on the national legislation in Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, Greece, Portugal and Belgium; organization of academic seminar in Italy, The Netherland and Spain. The consortium is composed of 6 partners in 4 EU countries, among which 2 are grass-rooted organisations working directly with children and youth in contact with the juvenile justice system in Italy and the Netherlands, 3 are academic institutions in Genova, Amsterdam and Valencia and 1 is a national authority, the Greek Ministry of Justice. The project can count also on the formal support of a regional service of the Italian Ministry of Justice, the Centre of Juvenile Justice – Region of Puglia and Basilicata (IT). |
