Johannes, a young and ambitious doctor, is sent to South Korea aboard the hospital ship Jutlandia to help wounded UN-troops during the Korean War. The ship has strict orders solely to help UN-troops and not aid the civil populace. But when Johannes and his colleagues Mona and Kristian are confronted with the horrors of war at the frontline, they are put to a greater test than ever before. Will they aid the dying civilians and risk the entire mission and their own careers by disobeying their commander’s orders? This story is a gripping tale of courage, humanity, and sacrifice in the face of war. It is about the human heart in conflict with itself, a grand story about duty, vigilantism, self-sacrifice and altruism doing the harshest of time. Even though the story is set in the 1950’s, it is a universal message that stands the test of time and we are certain that the story will enthrall both Danish audiences as well as audiences all across Europe.
