Description

Description

The key objectives of this project are: 1) Expansion of the current Ka-Na-Chi-Hih treatment program model to Sioux Lookout to increase the number of youth served by the program. 2) Renovate an existing structure to provide a safe, welcoming healing space that supports land-based and traditional practices. 3) Provide a long-term residential treatment program in the areas. This type of program is currently not locally available to Northern Ontario First Nation communities. The key scope of this project is the renovation of a old school in Sioux Lookout Ontario so that this can become an additional treatment program site. The school has been selected due to the current zoning of the space and the condition of the asset. At the end of the project, the building will be completely renovated to allow of a up to 8 youth to attend a long-term treatment program. Therefore, the major quantifiable component of this project is the completion of the renovations at the site.
