It includes a 212-kilometre pipeline and a 320-million-litre storage terminal, aiming to serve domestic and regional markets in East Africa. The project is a result of cross-border cooperation between Uganda and Kenya, with Kenya investing reciprocally in Uganda's refinery following Uganda's earlier investment in Kenya Pipeline Company infrastructure. The project is led by UAE-based Alpha MBM Investments with a 60% ownership stake and Uganda National Oil Company holding 40%. |
