Kabd Municipal Solid Waste PPP Project

The project will utilize the latest technology to treat municipal solid waste in Kuwait. The project aims to protect the environment and land resources, and to generate alternative power sources to be purchased by the Ministry of Electricity and Water.The project site is located south of the ground broadcasting station in the Kabd area, 35 km away from Kuwait City. The site dimensions are 1000m x 500 m, with a total area of 500,000 m2. The site will provide a number of services including treatment using incinerators for generating electricity, and landfilling the ash from the remains of the incineration. The total volume of the remains after burning should not exceed 5% of the total volume of waste. The plant is expected to receive 50% of total municipal solid waste produced in Kuwait.
