Description | The project includes the construction of 21 km of new roads and upgrading of 16 km of existing roads. SILK will design, build, maintain and operate the toll road for a 33 year period (the construction works should last 3 years). The road will have dual 3 lane carriageway, twelve multi-level interchanges and 4 toll plazas. SILK's ownership structure is equally divided among the private sponsors. Barisan Minda Sdn. Bhd. held 50% of the project company shares, while Sungei Way Holdings Bhd. held the remaining. Financing was achieved as follows: 30% of the cost will be financed with equity and 70% with bank loans. In 2001, the government provided SILK with US$ 118.4 million to construct a 16-Km non-tolled stretch of the Kajang Traffic Dispersal Ring Road. Road Builder has bought New Pantai Expressway in 2001 and Road Builder has been acquired by IJM in 2007 |
