Description | The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved an investment of Rs 26,069.50 crore for the 1,720 MW Kamala Hydroelectric Project in Arunachal Pradesh. The project is planned across the Kamle, Kra Daadi and Kurung Kumey districts and is expected to be completed within eight years. It will generate around 6,870 million units of electricity annually, contribute to cleaner energy supply, support peak demand management, and play a strategic role in flood moderation in the Brahmaputra basin. The project will be developed through a joint venture between NHPC Limited and the Arunachal Pradesh government, with additional investments for flood control and associated infrastructure. |
