Description	In February 2006, Sinohydro (SHA:601669) , a Chinese state controlled company was awarded a 44 year agreement to build and operate the Kamchay Hydropower Station in Cambodia through open bidding. The total investment was 280 million US$ and Sinohydro owned 100% of the project. The capacity of the hydropower plant was 193.2MW, divided into three construction stages - 10MW, 3.2MW and 180MW. The construction of the project commenced in September 2007 and the first phase became operational in December 2009. Construction lasted four years.
