Description | The project involved widening a 15-km stretch of the Kamrej–Chalthan section of NH-48 in Gujarat from four to six lanes, including remedial work at four black spots on the Kamrej–Bharuch corridor. The engineering, procurement and construction contract was awarded to SCIW–Unique Construction (JV) with a bid cost of ₹241.41 crore. The project faced slow progress and land availability issues, leading to mutual foreclosure of the contract after about 49.79% physical progress. An arbitration case was filed by the contractor claiming ₹174.49 crore, which was mostly rejected by the tribunal, awarding only ₹54 lakh. |
