Kanata Recreation Center (KRC) Renovation and Expansion

• The project will renovate the Kanata Recreation Centre to add new meeting rooms and updated interior spaces, as well as upgrade and expand the existing outdoor splash pad at the adjacent Walter Baker Park in Ottawa, Ontario. • The work will involve: o renovation of two multipurpose rooms and two public meeting rooms; o the addition of an emergency exit stairwell to comply with Ontario Building Code (OBC) requirements; o renovation of the facility’s lobby, including new customer service space and the addition of a vestibule leading into the lobby. • The project will enable the community to improve access to and quality of cultural, recreational and community infrastructure by improving the facility’s interior meeting and entrance spaces, enabling full capacity to be reached by satisfying OBC requirements, and expanding the outdoor recreational space adjacent to the facility.
