Information IHB Ltd. has come up with Kandla Gorakhpur LPG Pipeline [KGPL] Project with a ticket size of 10088 INR Crores. This project in Oil/Gas/LNG Storage sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project M/s IHB Ltd [IHB], a joint venture of IOCL, HPCL and BPCL is in the process of implementation of an approx. 2730 km long LPG pipeline network project with a capacity of 8.25 MMTPA. Project includes 1958 km long trunk line for transportation & distribution of LPG from Kandla [Gujarat] to Gorakhpur [Uttar Pradesh] additional feeder lines from Pipavav and Dahej [459 km long] and branch lines of various sizes [313 km long to directly cater to the LPG demand of the 21 LPG bottling plants of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and indirectly catering to the partial demand of the nearby bottling plants en route. Benefits: KGPL being developed for movement of bulk LPG from the port locations in Gujarat and refineries in Gujarat and MP enroute to various bottling plants of the oil marketing companies in the State of Gujarat, MP and UP. Its timely completion is going to greatly benefit the country by way of least cost bulk LPG placement at various bottling plants. Upon its commissioning, KGPL would reduce road congestion due to less movement of bulk LPG currently being transported mostly through trucks / tankers and thus would contribute immensely towards a pollution free environment by reducing carbon emission. Further, availability of LPG in every rural household is expected to result in huge social advantage towards women empowerment and their social upliftment.
