Kangankunde Rare Earths Project

The Kangankunde project is a world-class rare earths deposit in Malawi, poised to produce premium monazite concentrate at 55% total rare earth oxides grade. The project includes local beneficiation of raw rare earths ore into high-grade monazite concentrate before export, supported by strong infrastructure access, community backing, and essential licenses. Early works such as a 5.5km access road, gatehouse, ablution facilities, administration zones, and contractors' laydown area with solar power and septic systems have been completed on time and on budget. The project is advancing towards first production in 2026 with ongoing mobilization of mining fleet and infrastructure contractors, and finalization of process plant design and construction tenders.
