Description | The project comprises the construction of a 180-MW solar photovoltaic power project, which will supply renewable energy to the cities of Kankan, Siguiri, Kouroussa, Boké and Linsan in Guinea. The sponsor is the Portugal solar developer Enersado, and the construction company is its subsidiary Enersado Unipessoal Lda. The state authority is the Conakry’s Ministry of Energy, Hydropower and Hydrocarbons. It announced the construction is due to start on August 28th, 2024. The total capacity of the project is 180MW, serving different locations: 35 MW each to Kankan and Siguiri, 30 MW to Kouroussa, and two additional plants of 40 MW each in the cities of Boké and Linsan, to supply the northern part of the country.
